HELPING SERIOUS WRITERS SELF-PUBLISH

About Holly Brady

I'm the former director of Stanford Publishing Courses. . .

and a publishing strategist with a strong interest in new publishing processes. Currently I work with writers who are interested in using new media tools to self-publish their work.

During my tenure at Stanford, I worked with senior editors from some of the top US publishing firms, including Random House, Time Inc., Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Newsweek, John Wiley & Sons, Chronicle Books and others, to track the digital transformation of the publishing business. It was my job to create and deliver courses on the future of publishing.

I launched the Stanford Writers Workshop, the Stanford Web Publishing Workshop, and the Stanford Video-on-the-Web Workshop. I also served as executive editor for various Stanford book projects, including the Portable Stanford Book Series and Stanford: Portrait of a University.

I am a published author, the former editor-in-chief of a technology magazine, and a frequent speaker on the future of publishing. I’ve also served as a judge for the online division of the National Magazine Awards.
